The Sony PVM (Professional Video Monitor) is a range of monitor developed by Sony from 1986 to 2007. It uses a Trinitron System developed by Masaru Ibuka (Sony’s then President and co-founder), which allowed a much brighter and color accurate picture than previous CRT models; They were often used as TV studio monitors, or medical/scientific equipment, as they were extremely high-end. Through time and thanks to their cubic design, which also gave this range their nickname of “Sony Cube”, they were often used to create multiscreen videowalls, as well as individually as exhibition monitor.
